BANNED SANTA?: The writers strike has caused a dip in the sales of Christmas books. As an alternative, parents looking for a holiday book have turned to the recent online-only graphic novel collaboration between Frank Miller and screenwriter Joss Whedon.

"Cold Claus" is a revenge story about the gift of giving and receiving.

After the abduction of Santa, Mrs. Claus travels the world, picking up clues as to her husband's whereabouts. Along the way, she faces other holiday icons, some good, some bad.

Neither Whedon nor Miller could be contacted for comment on the site's popularity. Since its creation, the site has received millions of hits from readers.

"It's the new comic book," one fan said.

"Cold Claus" is currently available online only.
